And So It Begins

It's 2011. Holy crap.

I've decided to hunker down and learn some graphic design skills, do more art and make more things in general. I'll post my progress on this "blog" so that I (hopefully) keep it up. This site is a place for me to record the things that I've made and worked on, so that I can look back in a few years and see how much I used to suck. Or "how much better I've gotten" would probably be a more positive thing to say.

The blog's title is a reference to the "10,000 hour rule", repeatedly mentioned in Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers. It is said that "the key to success in any field is, to a large extent, a matter of practicing a specific task for a total of around 10,000 hours." Learn more about it here. Better yet, read the actual book!

So I hope to clock 10,000 hours of making stuff. I don't really have a specific focus (e.g., JUST sewing), but, you know, whatever.

Anyway, comments consisting of harsh criticisms/words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.
